The Single Christian

But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord. 1 Corinthians 7:32
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33
The Christian marriage of an equally yolked husband and wife is a blessing and a gift from God just as much as the single life of a Christian. Yes, the Bible does say that it is not good for man to live alone - but does that always mean that everyone should be married? Or rather, is it everyone's calling to be married? Or is it destined for some of us to be single?

There is a big misconception from many Christians that being single, especially long term or for life, is not seen as good in the eyes of the Lord or is not the ideal way to live as a Christian. But the truth is, we all have a divine Purpose and some people are just simply called to be single long term in order to focus a majority of their time on a mission to serve the Lord. Usually these single Christians are very few and usually have a higher calling. It does not mean that the calling of Christian people who are married are less, it just means that the single Christians who are called to be single long term just have a special and unique purpose that requires a high dedication to serving the Lord that requires a majority of their time. So having a wife or husband will be difficult for them to fulfill their life mission if their divine purpose and mission in life is to serve the Lord. For example - what if Mother Teresa was married with children? Do you think that she would have been able to accomplish all that she has accomplished for the world had she had other primary family duties?

And also, some people are just simply called to be single temporarily. Being single can help a person find their own self identity instead of relying on their partner to find because guess what? No one else can find another person's self identity because that is why it is called "self" identity - you are finding out who YOU are. Sometimes people must be single in order to find who they are in Christ. And once that person finds out who they are and finds an equally-yolked mate, then that person can offer so much more in the relationship and be more spiritually grounded, strong and be able to work together as a TEAM and not be a weak partner searching for the other partner to "make them complete."

And most importantly, being single, either long term or temporarily, serves an even bigger role and that is just to simply grow closer to Yeshua. So that if you are called to be married, your love and service to Christ grows exponentially in order to serve the Lord as a Team in an equally-yolked, Christian marriage.

Praise God if you are single. Praise God if you are together with your help mate. Each is a blessing and a gift from God.

Speaking It Into Existence

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Mark 11:22-24
And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Matthew 21:22
When we come to the Lord in prayer with faith, we are putting our trust in the Lord for our prayer requests to be answered. Through our faith with the Lord, God ultimately answers all prayers. Sometimes the answers that we receive are answers that we have been seeking or answers that are surprisingly unexpectant. Or sometimes the answer is just simply "wait" or "no, I have something better." However nethertheless, God still keeps His Word and answers our prayers and gives us exactly what we need. God already knows the desires of our hearts, even sometimes when we don't know what we want or don't know what all we should pray for. That is why God will still give us exactly what we need when we pray to Him in Faith.

And most importantly, why should we have faith? Because faith is seeing the unseen (Hebrews 11:1-3). Therefore, praying to the Lord with faith in our hearts is a necessity for us to receive what we need and desire, therefore speaking the desires of our hearts into existence.

Stop Worrying! - God's in Control

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
As a society, we typically worry everyday - whether it's about something minuscule or on a grand scale. But what we tend to forget is the act of worrying is not from God. Worrying is just another scheme from the devil to get you off of your course and distract you from your Purpose. So while you may be, for example, too busy worrying about what other people might think about you, you could be using that same time that you are worrying to focus on building your life and following your Purpose. What other people think about you does absolutely nothing for you. God has already naturally, instilled in you the calling that he already has for you in your life if you just listen and follow Him and not be distracted by the devil's, worldly guiles and tricks.

Be also at peace with your finances. If you are worried about food and shelter, remember that just as God has provided food and shelter to animals, what makes you think that He cannot provide for you?
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Matthew 6:25-26
Remember - God is always in control, even when our lives feel out of control. God already knows the desires of your heart and the plans for your life - so why worry? Ignore the distractions and instead take it to Him in prayer so that you can get back to your Purpose.

Keeping Your Hope

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11
God already knew the plans that He had for your life before you were born and He still knows the plans that He has for you now and in the future. That is why it is so important to never lose your faith in God because He is our only source of Hope and direction. Without trusting God, we can lose our Hope and thus not follow our life plan.

That is why many people who don't seek God typically seek instead worldly pleasures like drugs, sex or money to try to fill a void but eventually come to realize, after they have partaken in these worldly activities, that they feel even more hopeless than they did before.

God is our only true source of keeping our hope. Therefore, whenever you feel all hope is lost, remember to trust God and have patience since all things will eventually work together for the good of those who love God.

Talk to Yeshua and keep your hope. Hope is the intercession between us and the Lord - for we are saved by Hope!
For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Romans 8:24-26

How to Forgive Those Who Hurt You

Forgiving others who have hurt you is not always an easy process. And that is exactly what it is - a process. But it is a necessity to forgive others who have hurt you because it is the start of the healing process and also to save yourself. Forgiving people is the only way that you can release that grudge of bitterness that you still keep against that person whereas if you never forgave, you become consumed and ultimately destroyed by the bitterness you keep.

Now does that mean that it will be easy? Will you ever forget? Absolutely not! It is a process and you may never forget the bad experiences but forgiving that person who hurt you is the first step to letting go of the anger, rage and bitterness that is slowly destroying you in order to get back YOU.

Even Jesus said it in the Bible to "bear" with people in order to forgive. So even Christ implied that it was not going to be easy, but yet it is still a necessity, as Christ also has forgiven us.
Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. Colossians 3:13-14
So have you forgiven all of those who have hurt you in your past? And if not, how about today? Take it to the Lord in prayer.
