Do You Have a Relationship with God?

When is the last time you talked to God? And how frequently do you talk to Him? Do you make it a habit to pray before a meal and at bedtime only or do you talk to God only during the bad times? These are the main questions that we need to ask ourselves to determine if we truly have a relationship with God.

Having a relationship with God goes deeper than just praying to God before mealtime or bedtime as a ritual or only talking to God during the times that we struggle. Having a relationship with God means to involve Him in your daily activities and to talk to Him through the bad times and GOOD. It is like talking to your best friend or marital partner. Majority of the time you tell your best friend or marital partner everything right? You tell them about your day and all of the good, bad and ugly. Well this is the same kind of connection that God wants. He wants that same kind of relationship with you. And the more you talk to God daily and involve Him in all aspects of your life, the better you can hear His voice, therefore the stronger your relationship with Him becomes.
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. James 4:8
And remember, God is also omnipresent and omniscient. He is everywhere and all-knowing. So although God already knows the desires of your heart, even before you pray to Him, and He knows what you have done or will do on a daily basis, the importance of having a relationship with God is so that you can come to Him. So that you can know Him. God wants to save all of His children and wants you to have everlasting life. And that only comes by knowing Him and accepting Him.
....I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
So if you are married, you said "I do" to your spouse, right? You said "I do" because you have accepted that person to be with you and to be involved in your life daily. There is also a deeper love that the world cannot give and that's only through a daily connection and relationship with God.

So have you said "I do" to Him?

Reaching Success

Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. Psalm 37:4-5
So what is the key to success in your life? And how do you get there? To be successful in life is usually not by chance or just having really, great luck. To achieve success means working hard and having many failures along the way to get to your goal. Therefore, imagine if you NEVER had to work to get to your goal (everything was passed down to you), you never had failures along the way and you went straight to having all that you desired without working for it - do you think that you would mentally be able to handle this instantaneous success and be knowledgeable enough to know how to stay in it? It could be difficult because without you failing from time-to-time before the success or never having to work to achieve the success, how would you know what will work and what will not work to keep yourself successful? It's just like receiving a huge business inheritance from a former owner that use to own the business and the inheritance dries up quickly or the business fails because the recipient never ran the business therefore lacks the knowledge to run the business.

So the key to being successful (and staying successful) is through works!
Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established. Proverbs 16:3
