The Bible speaks of God giving us the spirit of power, love and a sound mind as opposed to the spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7). As long as we are alive in this world, we are ultimately going to experience daunting, unpleasant and harsh situations, especially Christians. It is quite normal for many Christians to become tested in their faith since a true Christian’s focus is not the worldly things, but a true Christian’s focus is living through the way of Christ since Christ’s kingdom is not of this world. Therefore, Christians that live in this world will inevitably have conflict with other people who are worldy because a true Christian knows that their true home is Heaven.
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. John 18:36
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:11-13
Tamara Laroux gives an inspirational story of her near-death experience of when she tried to end her life after she felt hopeless, however was saved by the Grace of God after an encounter with Jesus.
For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Romans 8:24-26
For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Romans 8:18
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
This story follows real testimonies from a former skinhead, gang member and prostitute who were once lost in deep despair and thought they were in too deep in their lifestyle to get out alive, but was saved by Jesus when they started to have faith in Him as that was their last and only option. Just when they were facing life or death situations, life for them all took an unexpected turn. That faith turned into Belief.
And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Mathew 17:20
