Being a Steward of Christ through Charity

Can you remember a time when you desperately needed emotional support or needed help with a task or just needed an item that you could not find or obtain and someone else helped you or gave you what you needed? How did you feel? You felt grateful and relieved, right? So when you see a homeless person asking you for food and you have the means to give that person food, what do you do?

The Book of Peter and Acts says the following:

And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. Use hospitality one to another without grudging. As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 1 Peter 4:8-10
I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. Acts 20:35
God did not design man to go about this world alone because God knew before He even created us that we all, at some point in our lives, would need help or guidance. Whether it's through help or guidance by a helpmate, friend, family member or stranger, we are all God's creatures created in His image. And since God is loving and giving and we are created out of His image, we as Christians must represent God. Therefore, to help another person in need is simply being a good steward in Christ by fulfilling your basic and essential duty as a Christian through love and Charity.
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. 1 Corinthians 13:13

Loving Difficult People and Those Who Despise You

Have you ever found it hard to like or love someone who is not nice to you or care about someone who is difficult? I think we all have! We are all human, right? So some of these feelings are just natural emotions of the flesh. But what if we switch our thinking to go above and beyond on what we just superficially see or feel and get down to the root of the why. Why is it so hard to like someone who is just difficult or not nice or someone who just simply despises you? And why is that person so difficult or unpleasant to begin with in the first place? It is because God and His children are not of this World. Although God is omnipresent and He is always surrounding us, the World still lies in wickedness because the World is Satan's kingdom.
And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. 1 John 5:19
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. John 15:18-19
That is why it is so easy for Satan to use people to his advantage in this world to cause conflict between people and nations and why we have people in this world that think bad things and just simply do bad things. That is why as a Christian, it is important to stay fervently and consistently in prayer and love those who despise you for these are the Christians' spiritual weapons! Satan is always trying to attack God's people and one of his best attacks are through people! But as a Christian, you must not fall for this trap and give in to the wickedness of the people who are not nice to you, despise you or even hate you; For if you do, Satan has won another pawn. Instead, God says that you must love each other and pray for each other, since only light can drive out the darkness.
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. John 1:5
These things I command you, that ye love one another. John 15:17
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you. Matthew 5:44
So when you begin to dislike or hate those who despise you - be careful! This means that Satan is starting to use you as the pawn too! So now Satan has at least TWO that he is using toward his advantage - you plus the person or people that despises you!

That is why Yeshua speaks of the importance of loving and praying for each other consistently throughout the Bible - Jesus Christ is trying to keep you on the path to Salvation since He is the only Way!

Have You Thanked God Today?

When you woke up this morning, what is the first thing that you did when you got out of bed? Did you eat breakfast? Pick out the clothes that you were going to wear today? Take a warm shower?

All of these things are routines and sometimes mindless things that we do everyday, but let's think about it in a different way - what if we didn't have a home? No bed? Nothing to eat? No clothes? No water for drinking or bathing? Now all of these mindless routines that we would of normally done everyday would not exist. Instead, we would be thinking hard on how to scavenge for food, a place to bathe, a cozy place to stay and clothes to keep us warm.

Therefore, if you have these basic necessities and you go about your day without thinking about what it would be like to not have these things, then it is time to think and give Thanks to the Lord that you DO have these things! A majority of us will pray to God to give thanks about a new job promotion or extra money that come into our life or something on a grander scheme, but what about the little things? What about giving Thanks to God daily for waking you up each morning and giving you the basic necessities of life? It's the little things that matter the most! So many people in this world are hungry or cold or need a place to stay just to Live. And some people just did not have the fortune to get out of bed today.

So I ask the question again - Have you given Thanks to God today? How about when you opened your eyes today?
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Why Trials are a Necessity

Image credit: Cathy Kaplan - freeimages.com

The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. Psalm 110:1-2
Have you ever felt like there was an attack on your job, finances, health or even from the people in your life? And how did you get through the hard times and what did you learn? Whenever we feel as being under attack by the enemy, remember God is still in complete and ultimate control.
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33
The enemy is well-known for bringing confusion into our lives and feeding us lies that causes conflict within ourselves and with each other. The enemy's goal is to destroy God's image in which is called mankind. When we go through these trials and tribulations, regardless of how difficult they may be, you cannot give in to Satan's ploy which is set to destroy you. Instead, hold fast to God's Word, pray for protection and strength and know that God is going to bring you through because God's in ultimate control.

And also - learn. During your trials, this is also one of God's teaching tools so that you can learn something important and come out stronger than you did before. So your trials are also strengthening you! So when your next trial comes, you will know how to conquer it.
But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 1 Peter 5:10
And also more importantly with building our strength, trials are a necessity to build our faith in God.
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? 2 Corinthians 13:5
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 1:2-4
We also encounter trials by the attack of the enemy on our jobs, through our finances and through our health, but remember - the battle is not yours, it's the Lord's! Take for example a cancer survivor - there are countless stories of people who are survivors of cancer. Because of the cancer survivors' experiences, they typically share their stories to other people on how they pushed through the hard times and how they fought cancer. Majority of the cancer survivors may even become more empathetic to giving hope and helping others who may be battling an illness themselves or give advice to people on how to live a healthier life or may even start a nonprofit organization. You see? The sickness was the enemy but the enemy became their footstool by the testimonies of their experiences, the giving of advice to others or the starting of a nonprofit organization.

For you to have a trial and pass the test is having God's Favor. This is God's Will.
