Keeping a Joyful Marriage

Marriages will always have their ups and downs, but how do you truly keep a happy marriage through the lows? Well the answer is very simple - you must keep God at the center point of your marriage!

We tend to want to keep control over things that we cannot control and sometimes we even want to control our partners. And if you are married or have ever been in a relationship, how many times did you come out successful trying to do this on your own YOUR way? Exactly - because it's rare!

Instead of trying to control situations that are already out of your control or trying to control your partner, seek God in prayer and ask Him for guidance in your relationships. Pray for each other. And when you start to feel that God is guiding you or when God begins to speak to you, remember to listen to ALL that He has to say - whether you may like it or not! If you are in the right spirit and are truly hearing God's voice, do not pick and choose what you want to hear from Him and choose to ignore the rest. God ALWAYS knows what is best for us, even when we don't know it at that time, but will inevitably, if not always, understand why later.

Having a marriage without imperfections is just not realistic, but it is not difficult to have a happy marriage if you are a couple of equal yolk, keeping God in it at ALL TIMES, keep in prayer and follow the Bible commandments for the duties of being a wife or for the duties of being the husband.
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. Use hospitality one to another without grudging. 1 Peter 4:8-9
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto to God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
So give it all in prayer!
