Don't Lose Your Patience

He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly. Proverbs 14:29
The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. Exodus 14:14
Rejoicing in hope; patience in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer. Romans 12:12
Have you ever heard the familiar saying that "patience is a virtue?" And what exactly does this mean? Virtue is defined as having high morals or a commendable trait. Thus for a person to have patience means that they are displaying righteous or virtuous behavior.

Christ wants us righteous at all times, even through trials and tribulations. Many of these trials can also test our patience, thus why we may lose control of our emotions during trying times or simply become weary of waiting for our Godly desires to happen and give up and go down the wrong direction in life. But God's plan for you is not for you to go down the wrong road that leads you to the path to destruction. He wants to keep you on the road that continues you on path of righteousness. For example - imagine you are driving in your car and your GPS is leading you to your correct destination, however during the drive, you notice many potholes in the road that you are consistently dodging. However you still stay on the road that your GPS is leading you because you know it is taking you to the correct destination. This is the same scenario that God does when He is leading you to the right destination - you encounter potholes (trials and tribulations) in the road, but you still must stay on the path to get to your correct destination. And sometimes you may run over the potholes and that's ok - as long as you keep going and stay on the path! God never said in the Bible that the righteous path will always be easy!

So have patience as you go along your life's journey. It may be a long ride sometimes, but at least you know that if you follow God's Way you will not get lost and you will get to the right place!
